About Summerfest

MISSION:

The goal of the Old Town SummerFest is to create an all inclusive, community wide street festival that provides live musical and strolling entertainment, contests, food, exhibits, things for sale, hands on activities, in a family friendly atmosphere with the eventual goal of raising funds after expenditures of the festival are met toward raising awareness and improvements for the old town district.

 

GOALS:

  • Create functional committees that share in the preplanning, execution, and follow up of all aspects of the festival
  • Build strong alliances within the Old Town District that will serve to create a citizen task force dedicated to mindfully promoting the historical value and vibrancy of that area of town.

  • Seek to create a independent fiscal management and budgeting system that will reflect ethical and transparent practices that will ensure bills are paid in full in a timely fashion, ticket sales are monitored through a numbering system and managed in a responsible manner and surplus funds are monitored and used toward the next years event and the districts decision to spend.
    • Funds raised by ticketing, exhibitors, food, and street vendors will be used in support of the event.
    • Funds raised by contests will be used in support of the Old Town District


Date: Saturday, August 25th – Noon to 10pm (with bars running til 2am)

Location: In Old Town District of Mankato - Wine Café Block to approx. Eagles Club/Whats Up Lounge block

Admission: $5 per person (in advance and at the gate), children 10 and under admission is free.

Proceeds: Proceeds will benefit the Old Town District to help revitalize, promote, and enhance the community.
